A wealth of experience in acquisitions, ensuring oversight from a regulatory perspective and leading a team of regional Managers to recruit, retain and develop businesses and Advisers.

My financial services career began back in 1996 as a cashier at Yorkshire Bank, quickly moving on to become the branch Mortgage Adviser with an underwriting mandate.
In 2000, I joined Countrywide Mortgage Services (now owned by Connells group) as an estate agency branch-based Adviser in a corporate environment where targets had to be met. After four years in an Advisory role, I climbed the corporate ladder to Regional Manager, responsible for a team of 10 Advisers.
In 2011, I’d had quite enough of the corporate world and joined a local respected estate agency as their Financial Services Area Manager. The first two years were spent re-building the employed Adviser team and bringing the FS department from a loss to a profit. We changed networks from Legal & General to Mortgage Advice Bureau within the first year and began to grow the self-employed element of the business.
By 2014, I had been promoted to Financial Services Director, responsible for the recruitment and development of a management team and the growth of the self-employed division. By 2018, we had grown the business to 88 self-employed Advisers, 4 Business Development Managers, and administrative staff. The business was acquired by the Belvoir Group in November 2018. I was kept on as the Financial Services Director, and the business continued to grow to over 150 Advisers by 2024. We had fast become the largest appointed representative firm of Mortgage Advice Bureau. I had gained valuable experience in the world of corporate acquisitions and was given the oversight and responsibility as Approved Person for a further 3 acquisitions made by the Belvoir Group, giving a total of over 230 self-employed Advisers sitting under 4 AR businesses.
In the summer of 2024, I decided to step down from the huge responsibility that had consumed me for many years and took stock of what the remaining years of my working life would look like.
